Reno

The global earthquake structural engineering firm, Miyamoto International, has opened an office in Reno to bring its seismic expertise to a region it views as a great growth market where seismic hazard is one of the highest in the West. With 20 locations globally in areas of high seismic activity and risk, Miyamoto believes its expertise helping building owners, investors, builders and government prepare for strong seismic events is critical for resilient development.

The office will serve the Reno, Sparks and Lake Tahoe regions.  Given Miyamoto’s vast experience on projects that include large-to-small education and healthcare facilities, parking garages, tilt-ups, historic restoration and high-rise structures, Miyamoto will utilize cutting-edge, high-performance engineering technologies rarely employed in the Reno area.

With the growing expansion of northern Nevada, including the Tahoe-Reno Industrial Center (TRIC), the expertise of Miyamoto will help ensure that structures don’t just meet life-safety requirements for its occupants, but ensure that owners can rely on their buildings to endure a seismic event and be operational after.  Additionally, Miyamoto works on both profit and nonprofit projects to enrich and give back to the community in which we live.
