Burbank Airport Regional Intermodal Transit Center
Miyamoto is presently working with the Burbank Airport Authority to develop a Regional Intermodal Transit Center. At the heart of the project is a 300,000-SF signature structure with a consolidated rental car facility; terminals for airport shuttle and transit bus services; and visitor parking. In addition to these diverse operational needs, the Airport Authority has placed extraordinarily high goals for the seismic performance and longevity of this facility. Together, these needs are the drivers for a unique structural solution. Miyamoto was specifically engaged due to their command of the technology, innovation and expertise, as required for this first of its kind structure.
