Last week, Miyamoto International joined Habitat for Humanity in Citrus Heights, California, for their annual Women Build, an initiative that brings together professionals and volunteers to deliver safe, quality housing for families.
Our team worked alongside partners from CSHQA and Moniz Architecture to support the construction of eight homes currently underway, part of a larger 27-home development designed to strengthen the local community through access to stable housing.

Turning Expertise into Action
From installing siding to painting, the work was hands-on and immediate. But beyond the tasks themselves, the experience reinforced something fundamental:
Strong communities are built through a combination of technical expertise, collaboration, and shared purpose.
At Miyamoto, much of our work focuses on high-performance structural engineering and disaster resilience. Whether designing new buildings or supporting post-disaster reconstruction, the goal is always the same: to deliver safe, durable structures that protect lives and create long-term value.
Opportunities like Women Build allow us to bring that mindset directly to the field, working side by side with partners and communities to contribute in a tangible way.

Collaboration That Delivers Results
This effort would not be possible without strong partnerships. Working alongside CSHQA and Moniz Architecture, our team contributed to a project that is already making measurable progress—homes that will soon provide stability and security for families.
Each step forward on site represents more than construction progress. It reflects:
- Improved safety and quality in housing
- Stronger, more connected communities
- A shared investment in long-term outcomes
A Lasting Impact
As the Women Build initiative continues, the impact extends well beyond the construction phase. These homes represent opportunity, supporting families, strengthening neighborhoods, and contributing to the broader economic stability of the region.
We are proud of our team, Priyanka Singh, Gon Ng-Xu, Amber Elliott, Caitlin Oakes, and Mimi Miyamoto, for contributing their time and expertise to this effort. Their work reflects the values that guide Miyamoto International every day: technical excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to making communities safer.

Building Forward
Projects like this demonstrate what’s possible when organizations come together with a clear purpose and a focus on results.
At Miyamoto International and Miyamoto Relief, we believe that safe, high-quality housing is a foundation for resilient communities and long-term growth. Through partnerships like Habitat for Humanity, we are proud to help turn that belief into action.
