Call For Action Towards Resilient Infrastructure
Call for Action Towards Resilient Infrastructure

This November the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt hosted the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27) to continue to tackle the global challenge of climate change.

In partnership with USAID, Miyamoto’s Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) experts presented at COP27. Their session on Call for Action Towards Resilient Infrastructure focused attention to the strengthening disaster risk governance of critical infrastructure in coastal regions of the Asia Pacific and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

The CDRI experts provided evidence that urges the need for a systematic approach toward preparing for inevitable power infrastructure damages. This systemic approach must be implemented in the short term followed by long-term planning to build a resilient power sector.

As an outcome, this discussion would provide direction to joint action on building capacities and enable the uptake of short and long-term measures for ensuring the resilience of critical infrastructure.
