A master plan feasibility study for the extension of existing facilities was requested by the shipyard administration suffering to meet the continuous purchase orders to increase the shipyard’s production capacity. The scope of the expansion project included new jetties, new slipways and earth retaining structures. In the contents of the feasibility study, a budget cost study was carried out based on the results of the preliminary design for the subject industrial structures. Besides, the existing slipway structure was also studied to determine the load carrying capacity to identify maximum performance level. According to the studies carried out, the required capacity increment needed to make an investment of 12 million dollars was determined.
