Description

Miyamoto was commissioned to perform an evaluation of the Structural Code Deficiencies of Yuba City Fire Station #4, an existing, 7,000-SF, 1-story fire station in Northern California originally built in 1964 with additions in later years. We provided the following structural engineering services for the project: review of existing documentation, site visit, structural calculations as needed and a summary of structural code deficiencies. Miyamoto provided two approaches for structurally upgrading the building, pointing out that a voluntary upgrade gave the city options on what to upgrade in terms of budget, schedule and phasing. Miyamoto’s solutions helped the city focus its resources on structural repairs that provided the greatest opportunity to mitigate structural risk.
