Serving the Cathedral Hill neighborhood in downtown San Francisco, this 496,104-SF medical office building for Sutter Health includes 10 stories above grade and six levels of parking below grade. The structural system utilizes buckling-restrained braced frames strategically located to accommodate the building’s “wedding cake” profile. The upper levels incorporate “green roofs” into the design and provide large accessible outdoor areas for tenants and patients to relax and enjoy. The project also includes an underground tunnel connecting the facility to adjacent facilities across Van Ness Avenue. Miyamoto is the Structural Engineer of Record.
