Miyamoto International provided earthquake engineering quality control for a World Bank and European Union funded $1 billion US earthquake risk-mitigation project in Istanbul, Turkey. This project involved more than 2,000 schools, hospitals, emergency-response centers and historic monuments. We were responsible for providing the latest earthquake engineering methodologies and cost-effective solutions for this massive program.
With Turkish practice engineers, academicians and international engineers, we developed a guideline for seismic rehabilitation by using the latest U.S., Japanese and Turkish codes. By working with the Turkish government, we were able to assist with High-Performance Earthquake Engineering, providing designs that will achieve superior performance at reduced costs. Our international culture helped us work effectively with local and other international consultants.
