Located near the Calexico East Port of entry with Mexicali, the Calexico Crossings II project consists of two, new single-story, concrete tilt-up buildings. Miyamoto performed the structural design for the multi-tenant office/warehouse buildings. With its mixed use of concrete and steel supported glass, the Calexico Crossings II project combines the functionality of a warehouse with the aesthetics of office buildings. The buildings boast a single line of columns, allowing for the maximization of warehouse racking. To accomplish this, Miyamoto was required to push the industry standard truss length of 60’ to 74’-6”.
