This design-build project for the California State University Los Angeles campus consisted of three buildings on two separate sites. The corporation yard contains storage and administrative offices in a two-story high-bay structure, with shops in an adjacent one-story building. The Public safety building is a single-story structure designed as an Essential Services Facility. Miyamoto worked with the general contractor to develop an economical design using tilt-up concrete wall panels combined with steel floor and roof framing, a system which was selected because of its economy, durability and its compatibility with the architectural style of the CSULA campus.
