CareMar Recovery Center is a new, two-story, state-of-the-art facility set to open in 2028 on the campus of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach. Specializing in treating substance abuse disorders, the 25,000-SF, 28-bed facility will provide a full spectrum of care, offering both inpatient and outpatient services. The first floor will serve as the residential area, a comfortable home space with private consultation rooms and indoor/outdoor communal spaces. The second floor will contain outpatient services, including a partial hospitalization program and an intensive outpatient program. In recent years, the healthcare industry has seen rising numbers of hospitalizations and deaths caused by substance abuse. Hoag hopes this specialized facility will allow it to grow its capacity to help many more community members on their journey to recovery.
Miyamoto and Hoag share a long history cooperating on projects for the benefit of California’s communities, and our dedication to making the world a better, safer place is no different for this project. Our structural design for CareMar Recovery Center is a steel frame structure that uses steel special moment frame connections provided by DuraFuse, which ensure lower costs and a quicker erection schedule. DuraFuse frames are especially useful in earthquake prone regions due to their quick repairability so that structures remain functional following a seismic event.
