Chevron, Building H-LL Global Security Information Center Renovation

The team provided electrical engineering services to convert an existing storage basement into a 24-hour global security infrastructure. We evaluated the existing power distribution system; due to critical operations, we designed a stand-alone “island” type distribution system with an alternative power source hook-up in case of extended normal power failures. We provided power for mechanical equipment—including a 20,000 CFM custom air handling unit—lighting, receptacles, telecom and data equipment, and fire alarm and public address systems. Due to space constraints in the original design, the team separated the supply fan and return fan sections of the custom air handling unit. We upgraded the existing lighting to LED lighting with circadian rhythm to aid in 24-hour operations. We used the Lutron Enlightened lighting control system in compliance with the California Energy Code and prepared Title 24 energy compliance forms. We also performed construction administration, commissioning, and close-out for this project in a timely manner.
