Chris Burden “Urban Light”

The Chris Burden “Urban Light” art installation consists of 202 vintage light posts from Los Angeles and surrounding cities clustered together within a 3,700-SF space in front of the entry canopy for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and the new Broad Contemporary Art Museum (BCAM). Miyamoto provided the structural support for the 202 vintage light posts that varied in height and weight and required a matrix of support details. In addition, Miyamoto engineers helped with permit approvals from the City of Los Angeles and structural support during construction.
