This new multi-use facility ties into the existing modern style of Christ Community Church, creating a harmony with the existing campus through architectural style and the formation of public space. The structural system consists of metal deck with wide flange beams and girders at the roof and composite concrete over metal deck with wide flange steel beams and girders at the floor. The exterior CMU walls are bearing and provide stability for wind and earthquake loads. The split-faced CMU was also used as the exterior architectural finish in several locations. The project campaign was based on the theme “Building to Serve,” with the incorporation of a multi-purpose room for performing arts and indoor sports. A full kitchen, youth activity center and administrative offices are also included.
