With its roots dating back to industrial revolution era, Coats is the world’s leading industrial thread manufacturer. Coats Turkey plant is located in Bursa which has been the center of textile industry for decades. The plant has been constructed in 1960’s and therefore the buildings are non-ductile. Miyamoto International Istanbul office has signed Seismic Performance Assessment contract with Coats manufacturing plant in Turkey. Provided services include performance evaluation and proposing proper retrofit method by means of energy dissipating friction dampers. This project aims to protect an industrial heritage and help economic sustainability of both the region and the country.
