Disney California Adventure underwent a massive renovation from 2007 to 2012, bringing new attractions and themes for park visitors to enjoy. Stage 2 of the renovation introduced the Paradise Pier, which replaced what was originally a generic California boardwalk. This new attraction brought all-new facilities, ride foundations, load-unload platforms and back of house facilities. Including the Stage 2 renovations in Adventure Park, Miyamoto also participated in the renovations of Disney’s Tomorrowland. We provided engineering services for the major update to the attraction, with involvement in the following projects: • Honey I Shrunk the Audience Theater • Circlevision Theater renovation feasibility concepts for several planned renovations of the existing theater • Innovations Building Renovation • Rocket Rods Load/Unload Platform and tunnel to the Circlevision Theater Building Disney California Adventure.
