Farm Bureau of California Headquarters, River Plaza

Farm Bureau of California Headquarters, River Plaza

The new headquarters for the California Farm Bureau Federation is a 60,000-SF, 3-story office facility located on a five-acre site. The construction utilized site-cast concrete and steel building elements. The facility includes office space, conference facilities and a board room. The building design complements the existing, adjacent, two-story buildings by incorporating similar materials and design elements. Due to geotechnical challenges at the site and potential for liquefaction, an auger cast-pile system was used to support the building foundation. The ground-floor slab was designed to span between column and wall foundations in case of liquefaction and partial settlement. The common use of brick and stone veneer throughout the development resonates with the California Farm Bureau Federation’s longevity as a 100-year organization and reinforces a sense of place within the surrounding River Plaza Development.
