Part of the GSA Design Excellence program, the Foley Federal Building conversion in Las Vegas features dynamic new front and rear entry canopies that provide security, beauty and improved way finding. The project also involved strengthening of several floors for high-density filing, installation of improved HVAC equipment and improvements to the blast resistance of the ground-floor columns and walls.
Originally constructed in the early 1960s, the four-story building was in need of renovation. It was named after Roger D. Foley and his father, Roger Thomas Foley, both senior U.S. District Court judges. The federal building is home to U.S. Bankruptcy Court, U.S. Trustees, U.S. Probation Services, U.S. Tax Court, Defense Contract Management Agency, National Labor Relations Board.
