Miyamoto Turkey was tasked with transforming the existing shore area into sheltered conditions so that the retired Akdeniz boat, that was donated to serve as a training ship, will function accordingly. The existing breakwater structure was extended 180 m (including also widening to allow for vehicle traffic) so that the Akdeniz boat could safely remain in the sheltered area. A wharf structure, 35 m wide and 70 m long, was supported by steel driven pipes and a 29 m long PC bridge structure for the transition between wharf and breakwater systems that were designed for transportation purposes. Separately, 38, 48 and 64 m long 3 jetty structures with steel driven piles and 17 m long PC-type bridge structures were designed to enable the small size boats to board.
