As the Structural Engineer of Record, Miyamoto performed an ASCE 41 Tier 1 analysis of structures, foundations and non-structural elements for three existing school buildings. Last renovated in 1936, initial construction of the buildings was prior to the Long Beach Earthquake in 1933, in which school buildings were among the structures that incurred the most severe damage.
