Mather Veterans Village, Phase 1 is anaffordable housing project developed by Mercy Housing. Miyamoto provided structural engineering services for the construction of the three-story, 43,400-SF building, home to 50 residential units that surround a central courtyard. Building amenities include a community room, computer terminals, extensive on-site services and an outdoor courtyard. Special approaches were taken for this project to be a green building—with a performance at least 25 percent better than California’s energy code—and Green Communities certified.
