Millipore Sigma consists of a new manufacturing facility to support viral and gene therapy production. The facility was constructed within an existing shell building for production at the 1000-liter scale using proprietary single-use equipment. This phase includes 11 new viral vector manufacturing labs, warehouse space, offices, equipment mezzanine and a utility yard for support. Miyamoto provided the structural design for the main equipment mezzanine platform, a steel-frame structure topped with corrugated concrete over metal deck. Additionally, structural design support was provided for various MEP units and distribution lines throughout the project, including cooling towers, generators, pumps, chillers and chilled water lines.
