Mira Costa College Oceanside Campus Chemistry & Biotechnology Building

A new two-story, 23,300-SF chemistry and biotechnology laboratory building featuring eight total labs (biotech, bioprocessing, tissue culture, general chemistry, standard chemistry and organic chemistry), two classrooms, staff areas and service rooms on the MiraCosta College Oceanside campus. The structure also includes adjacent site work consisting of a new quad area. Building features include exposed buckling restrained braced frames; exposed structural steel framing and dovetail metal deck at second-floor areas; a wrap-around balcony walkway; a cast-in-place concrete and steel feature stair with a pop-up roof; perforated screen walls and metal sun shading walls.
