Miyamoto conducted detailed and advanced analysis for the vibration mitigation of an 85- by 50-meter floor area utilizing damping devices. The design team successfully arrived at a non-intrusive and cost-effective solution, retaining the client’s vision of the structural system and use. The Convention Centre is part of the Qatar Foundation Education City Foundation, a non-profit organization, and is the largest of its kind in the Middle East. The Convention Centre holds up to 7,000 people in its three main halls. The site hosts exhibits and conferences, local and international music and arts festivals and international events such as boating and motor shows.
