This award-winning affordable housing development has 56 residential units divided among 13 three-story multi-family buildings with ground floor tuck-under parking. The residences surround a central community building that houses a daycare facility and other services, as well as space for separate maintenance facilities. Numerous green features were incorporated into the design, such as high-thermal mass finishes and materials produced from high-recycled content. This net-zero development meets impressive levels of sustainability, incorporating solar PV and hot water, low-VOC materials and low-E dual-pane windows. AIA Central Valley recognized this project for its design and positive impact on the Live Oak community with the 2013 AIA Central Valley Honor Award for a significant Work of Architecture.
