The Natomas Aquatic Complex is the first Olympic-size, 50-meter pool for the City of Sacramento residents and to host future Junior Olympic events. The complex is located at North Natomas Regional Park featuring a new 15,000-SF community center overlooking the pools with indoor-outdoor access to meet the needs of the community to host public and private events. The aquatic complex will be not only utilized by Sacramento residents but the Natomas Unified School District’s high school swim and athletic programs. Aquatic amenities include the 25-meter recreation pool, a zero-entry pool, children’s water park, splash pad and locker rooms. One of the challenges Miyamoto faced was having final approval on two sets of plans and specifications with two jurisdictions, the City of Sacramento and DSA.
