In the critical days following the June 2022 earthquake that devastated eastern Afghanistan, Miyamoto executed a large-scale damage assessment initiative that formed the backbone of the shelter response. Our engineers, including GIS and vernacular architecture experts, assessed the condition of over 10,000 homes. This rapid data collection and analysis was instrumental in helping humanitarian agencies quantify the need, prioritize aid, and deliver targeted “build back safer” messaging to affected communities.
