The new 15,000-seat arena will become the centerpiece of the Reno Rodeo grounds remodel, a larger plan to revitalize the entire Reno Livestock Events Center facility with new arenas and an exhibit hall. The schematic design has been completed and the project is waiting for funding from the State of Nevada to complete the construction documents for this landmark structure. Miyamoto found this arena particularly challenging because it requires open access from below to allow riders, livestock and large vehicles into the event space. The east side of the seating spans over a large atrium that holds a gathering space and museum at the ground level. Offices for the Rodeo staff are situated on the upper deck of the arena.
