Ripon Unified School District & Ripon High School CTE Building

This Career Technical Education (CTE) Building at Ripon High School is a new, state-of-the-art education facility where students can learn hands-on technical skills before entering the workforce. Miyamoto prepared the structural design for this 11,674-SF, two-story building, which features structural steel with a braced frame lateral system. The first floor includes two business development classrooms and an agricultural workshop for hands-on technical education in diesel and non-diesel engines. This floor also boasts a multi-directional hoist, described as a crane bridge that can go anywhere within the level, that required support from the foundation and framing. Above that, the second floor hosts a cutting-edge culinary classroom with specialized equipment, such as a smoker, dehydrator and fryer. The scope also included an incremental 2,850-SF, single-story classroom building with wood framing and a wood structural panel shear wall lateral system, as well as landscape structural engineering support.
