In 2024, the San Leandro Unified School District welcomed this new, $67-million gymnasium in San Leandro High School. This 50,000-SF gym provides students with competition, physical education and supplemental activity spaces, a lobby, locker room facilities and support spaces. 

Miyamoto’s structural design utilizes structural steel frame construction with an expressive touch at the gymnasium portion with exposed structural steel. The lateral system is composed of buckling-restrained braced frames, and the monumental canopy entrance structure is supported by a cantilever column system.
