The Edison marries sophistication and sustainability as Reno’s newest luxury community. As consumers adapt to more sustainable lifestyles like electric vehicles, their living arrangements change with them. There’s more demand now than ever for easy access to sustainable tech. The Edison meets this demand by providing residents with charging stations for their vehicles and even electric bike rentals, on top of a state-of-the-art fitness center, resort-style hot tub, multiple fire pits, grills, community gathering spaces and more. Miyamoto provided structural engineering services for this 235-unit residential and mixed-use development. The project consists of one level of underground parking, at-grade parking and an elevated podium with five levels of Type III residential on top. In response to poor site conditions that caused unbalanced sliding on the basement level, our team provided adequate resistance to the structure by incorporating concrete walls in the foundation.
