The Lowry Ranch Bridge is a 300-foot-span, pedestrian/vehicle bridge that will connect the Redding Rancheria tribe’s main tribal campus with their new Health Village that is currently under construction across Clear Creek. Miyamoto is serving as the project manager with additional structural engineering design services for numerous ancillary elements. Our team was informed that we could not work on a riparian zone that is located underneath the bridge. Otherwise, we would harm the aquatic ecosystem. The solution was to cantilever the bridge over the river; and throughout construction, we would use temporary trestles constructed on adjacent upland areas to allow installation.
