The Mobility Hub at LTCC

The Mobility Hub at LTCC

The Mobility Hub at LTCC is part of a broader plan to bring clean transportation to the Tahoe Basin and encourage LTCC staff, students, the community and visitors to the Basin to use clean and green public transportation. With the goal of cutting down on the use of fossil fuels, the Hub is set to become the go-to charging station for the Tahoe Transportation District’s electric buses and small transportation shuttles. The structure also provides shelter to its users and secure storage for other green forms of transportation, such as bikes and boards. Miyamoto developed a structural design composed of steel with a shallow foundation to accommodate the architectural design as well as an overhead charging unit for electrical buses and shuttles. Awards: 2020 Tallac Achievement Award, Awarded by the Tahoe Chamber Lake Tahoe Community College Mobility Hub Location: South Lake Tahoe, CA Year: 2019 Client: Architectural Nexus, Inc. Cost: $1 Million Scale: 2,000 SF Miyamoto International
