Miyamoto International served as the structural Quality Control (QC) inspector for this U.S. Armed Forces Reserve Center. As required by the US Army Corps of Engineers, the team inspected the wind and seismic main lateral force resisting system, components and cladding. We provided support in the construction of the pile caps and grade beams and helped coordinate the connections and requirements for a continuous load path from the main lateral (seismic and wind) load to the foundation and embedment. Afterwards, we took part in the welding inspections to ensure the connection requirements of the steel structure and its components were met. At the same time, we assured the contractor would avoid any construction delays caused by misinterpretations and erroneous implementations of the construction documents.
