U.S. Armed Forces Reserve Center

U.S. Armed Forces Reserve Center

Miyamoto International served as the structural Quality Control (QC) inspector for this U.S. Armed Forces Reserve Center. As required by the US Army Corps of Engineers, the team inspected the wind and seismic main lateral force resisting system, components and cladding. The structural components used on this project, such as the steel moment frame structure (for high seismic and wind loads) and insulated concrete forms (ICF) walls (which were new to the local market), challenged the local contractors due to their lack of experience working with these non-standard (to local market) materials. Our detailed structural quality control and technical support to local contractors provided an important bridge between US designers and local contractors to assure that the construction met the specified structural requirements while decreasing any possible delay.
