Valley Children’s Medical Center, Medical Office Buildings

Miyamoto International is providing design-build services for the Valley Children’s Medical Center, Medical Office Building in Bakersfield. As part of a high-performing design-build team, we are tasked with implementing consistent design principles, while streamlining planning and gaining efficiencies to ultimately deliver cost savings for our client. We used efficient structural systems within clinical spaces to provide cost savings that were used to enhance lobby finishes and the curved glazing. With a compressed schedule, our goal is to deliver final design prior to the code cycle change on January 1, 2017. Valley Children’s is the 15th largest children’s hospital in the nation and these new facilities will provide much-needed healthcare services to children in the Central Valley counties of Kern, Merced and Stanislaus. The facilities ensure outpatient pediatric patients receive high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services regardless of their ability to pay. Upon completion, we will engage in similar services in Modesto, Madera and Merced.
