Valley Children’s Medical Center

Valley Children’s Medical Center

Miyamoto International provided design-build services for the Medical Office Building at the Valley Children’s Medical Center in Bakersfield. As part of a high-performing design-build team, our tasks were to implement consistent design principles and streamline planning to deliver cost savings for our client. We used efficient structural systems within the clinical spaces to provide cost savings, which were then used to enhance lobby finishes and the curved glazing. With a compressed schedule, our goal was to deliver the final design prior to the code cycle change on January 1, 2017. Valley Children’s is the 15th largest children’s hospital in the nation, and these new facilities provide much-needed healthcare services to children in the Central Valley counties of Kern, Merced and Stanislaus. The facilities ensure outpatient pediatric patients receive high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services regardless of their ability to pay. Miyamoto has started to engage in similar services in Modesto and will engage in similar work in Madera and Merced. Valley Children’s Medical Center Medical Office Buildings, Design-Build
