Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station

Willowbrook/Rosa Parks Station

The Willowbrook/Rosa Parks station has the fourth highest volume of ridership in the metro system with more than 30,000 riders a day. Built over 25 years ago, the station’s outdated layout will be transformed into a more user-friendly, safe, and modern design. The focal point of the project is a new civic plaza that will foster a neighborhood connection, breathing new life into a station whose primary function until now has been that of a transfer point for downtown commuters. The plaza will feature artwork, planting and seating areas, a mobility hub, and a customer service center. The station’s new configuration will improve transfers between the existing Blue LRT and Green LRT lines with new canopies, vertical circulation, and an extended platform. Upgrades will include a new mobility/bike hub; Park & Ride; improved bus loading bays featuring modern glass-roofed canopies; improved lighting; a Transit Security and Customer Service Center; and enhanced signage.
