For the BP Gas Station project, Miyamoto International provided structural performance assessment, alteration, rehabilitation, upgrading, retrofit design, construction supervision and quality control services on site. We also conducted structural surveying and geotechnical investigation services for BP’s gas stations nationwide.
BP gas station facilities include retail office buildings, gas-filling canopies, a vehicle-washing unit and infrastructure, including embedded gas storage tanks, utilities and retaining walls. The required services were needed because of re-branding requirements, capacity increment, renewing the existing facilities or new acquisitions. In each case, safety priorities and business interruption matters were the main issues to be resolved during construction. Additionally, interdisciplinary consultations and cooperation were crucial issues on these facilities to reduce the risk of an explosion.
