The Volvo office building was an existing 5 story reinforced concrete office building which needed to be rehabilitated according to new requirements that arose due to earthquake performance demand and new architectural usage needs. To meet these requirements, new shear walls extending from the basement to the upper floors were replaced together with the upgrade of other structural elements like slab beam and columns. Construction and site supervision services including QA/QC, health and safety management and the issuing of periodical monitoring reports following the preparation of technical specification, tender documents and structural design were carried out.
