The facility was supported by prefabricated cantilever columns and mostly contained robotic manufacturing contents. Approximately 5.000 people worked there in three shifts per day. The client requested to investigate the applicable innovative retrofitting alternatives to prevent business interruption so that production could continue during retrofitting. The scope of services included providing a site-specific seismic hazard analysis report and a high performance earthquake engineering feasibility study by means of energy dissipating seismic devices, cost analysis, planning and budgeting.
