Building Resilient Infrastructure for Climate-Resilient Development in the Decades Ahead

To meet the sustainable development goals, massive infrastructure investments will be needed in the next few decades. However, intensifying climate hazards and their risks entail embedding resilience into infrastructure design and implementation. As a growing coalition garnering and sharing knowledge amongst different stakeholders, CDRI is encouraging risk assessment and evidence-based policymaking to increase disaster resilience, facilitate preparedness, and improve decision-making.

Dr. Umamaheshwaran Rajasekar is a disaster-risk and climate resilience advisor. He has over two decades of experience developing plans, policies, programs, and knowledge products, including digital tools and training programs for mainstreaming governments, INGOs, and multi-lateral agencies' efforts toward building urban resilience.

Amit Tripathi has experience in transmission, renewable energy and climate change and supports CDRI in its efforts to promote energy sector resilience.

Drawing from her diverse experiences within think tanks, governmental roles, and academia, she has acquired profound expertise in climate change vulnerability and risk assessments, as well as spatial planning and analysis, which she utilizes to generate research-driven insights.
