Our commitment was the schematic structural design of the new Departures Building at Otopeni Int’l Airport.
Despite the very simple rectangular shape, the structural system of this 3-story building is composed of reinforced concrete frames and concrete cores. The roof is supported by 3-meter high steel beams spanning 43 meters between the concrete columns.
The building was designed with a Performance Based Design concept to withstand a major earthquake action.
