Description

Regarding this huge onshore terminal, design review services were provided to the contractor before notice to proceed for construction. In the content of the design review, the design documents and the construction drawings of all infrastructure and superstructure systems were reviewed to verify that the design documents and the construction drawings were fully compatible with the related current specifications. The Ceyhan terminal was the end point of the Baku-Tblisi-Ceyhan pipeline situated at the exit point to the Mediterranean Sea functioning as an important loading terminal in transferring crude oil extracted from Azerbaijan’s Caspian Sea to off shore countries. As the related area was a high seismic risk zone and the important factor of safety was highly demanded, the earthquake design had become a serious issue to be taken into account.
