Description
City View @ Van Ness is a mixed-use, affordable housing project aimed at young professionals and residents looking for an urban living experience in downtown Fresno. Located near transportation, shopping and entertainment and only yards from Chukchansi Park, home to AAA baseball’s Fresno Grizzlies. The new building is four stories with 45 apartment units in two towers connected by pedestrian bridges on each floor and separated by an elevated second-floor courtyard. The first floor has retail space and indoor parking. City View is part of the revitalization effort of downtown Fresno and replaces the existing building on the site, the 91-year old Droge Building. The design began as a 3-story wood structure over a 1-story cast-in-place podium. Working with the contractor in a design-assist approach revealed cost savings in switching to a steel and concrete masonry podium. The concrete masonry base’s design recognizes historical elements of the original Droge Building. City View @ Van Ness is a GreenPoint Rated Building.
