Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, announced on his Facebook page that the international company Miyamoto International will be partnering with the Kyiv region to establish a state-of-the-art waste management system.

“I had a productive meeting with Dr. Hideki ‘Kit’ Miyamoto, the CEO of Miyamoto International. The company specializes in humanitarian recovery after natural disasters, military conflicts, and catastrophes and has official representations in 27 countries around the globe. Among Miyamoto International’s partners are prestigious international entities like the World Bank, USAID, and the majority of UN agencies,” Ruslan Kravchenko highlighted.

Mr. Kravchenko pointed out that the Kyiv region is genuinely keen on establishing a proper system for the identification, collection, and disposal of demolition waste.

“This is a crucial phase of the recovery currently underway in the region. Given that the dismantling of structures damaged by the occupiers results in a significant volume of such waste, we aim to streamline their processing using the latest global technologies, creating avenues for their potential reuse. Our ultimate objective is the preservation of natural resources, mitigation of environmental pollution, and fostering the economic growth of the region,” he further elaborated.

Additionally, the proposal from Miyamoto International regarding the construction of a contemporary waste processing facility in the Kyiv region was discussed. This initiative is already in motion in Ukraine, financed by international donors. Both parties consented to kick off the relevant processes, which would, naturally, necessitate further detailing, preparation of a suitable technical-economic rationale, engagement of partners to ensure financial backing, and more.
