Dr. Kit Miyamoto was recently invited as a guest speaker in a series of interviews with notable architectural figures concerning the restoration of Ukraine in the wake of the war. Using the recent earthquakes in Turkey as a starting point, Dr. Miyamoto discuses the importance of earthquake preparedness, community involvement, as well as minimizing damage during disasters. Over the course of the conversation Dr. Miyamoto addresses the need for better regulation concerning resilient structures, the role of disaster reduction organization such as Miyamoto International in aiding with reconstruction efforts, and some new technologies that could ensure resiliency moving forward with rebuilding in Ukraine.
