This project for Dignity Health, formerly Catholic Healthcare West, is a 58,050-SF medical office building in Woodland. Three single-story buildings were joined together with a clerestory design for the corridor, providing a signature space while maximizing the efficiency of the building footprint. The clerestory element also helps to reduce energy consumption by maximizing available natural light. The exposed concrete tilt-up walls offer a sustainable and multi-functional design that provides structural support and an architectural finish, resulting in less construction materials, allowing the project to meet its budget goals. The design also called for glue-laminated beams, rather than heavy timber beams from old growth trees, achieving the heavy timber look desired with sustainable design.
