The Washington Family Ranch in Central Oregon is one of 25 Young Life camps in the United States. Miyamoto International provided comprehensive design services and calculations through construction administration for the expansion of this resort-style facility, which has served tens of thousands of campers, leaders, volunteers and guests since it opened in 1999.
The project included four staff houses totaling 9,000 SF, a 400-seat stage and lounge auditorium, a 22,000-SF dining hall and kitchen with exposed 62-foot-span heavy timber trusses, two-story guest cabins covering 47,000 SF and a mechanical and reception building. The foundation CMU the CUP building was designed to support the pumps and other mechanical equipment required to support a 350,000-gallon swimming pool and three, 115-foot water slides.The recreational location has waterslides, pools, assorted water activity areas, a 32,000-SF skate park, basketball court, rope gym, climbing wall and recreational center facility.
