Yusuf Zahit Gündoğdu is a Principal with Miyamoto International and the president of Miyamoto International Turkey.
In his 25 years of experience, Yusuf has supervised or directly engineered numerous structural projects. His overseas experience includes work as a resident engineer in East Asia, Western Asia and Russia. During his 7 years of experience in Japan, he worked on the design of several famous suspension bridges, such as the Yong-Jon, Kwang-An and Tokyo Bay bridges, as well as numerous short span bridges. He has extensive experience with high performance earthquake engineering and the design of high-rise buildings; as well as retrofitting existing bridges and marine structures. His native language is Turkish and Yusuf is also fluent in Japanese, French and English.
Yusuf is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Turkish Society of Civil Engineers (TMMOB), Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCA), Urban Land Institute (ULI), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), International Association for Bridges & Structures (IABSE), Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI), The Turkish Green Building Association (CEDBIK), Turkish Association for Seismic Isolation (TASI), Precast / Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) and the Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI).
He received his Master of Science in Structural Engineering from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey after taking his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Yıldız Technical University.
